The weather gods showed mercy on wannabe flappers, bootleggers, and dandy's everywhere this past weekend as the seventh annual Jazz Age Lawn Party went down with style and grace. The grandiose costume party is held bi-annually at the idyllic Governor's Island in New York celebrating a bygone era of jazz and hooch. Thousands of people showed up in their best boaters, three-piece suits, and spectator shoes and were transported to a different era against the backdrop ofย Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra. Even Occupy Wall Street's notoriously Internet-famous Hipster Cop showed up decked in a three-piece ensemble complete with bow tie and saddle shoes, pretty much putting any and all law enforcement officers to shame. Sorry Paul, we think it's safe to say this party definitely trumps a seersucker social. And if you were too busy getting shitfaced this weekend to care, you'll have a second chance to join the festivities when they do it again August 18 and 19.
