Meet Yunxiang Zhou, student designer and recent winner of "Menswear Designer Of The Year" at Parsons The New School for Design's annual benefit runway show. Zhou (who is the spitting image of another Parsons alum whose name rhymes with Schmalexander Schmang), was born in China to a set of doctor parents. Although the odds were stacked against her, she pursued her dreams of becoming a fashion designer, leading her to Parsons 4 years ago. The result of her thesis collection seems to be a mix of Maison Martin Margiela and Thom Browne, which, as you may have guessed, means the clothes aren't all that wearable. So, while we're not 100% sold on the clothes themselves, it could be that Zhou is just on some next next next level shit and she's #influencing our balls off as we speak. For all we know, in a few years we'll all be rocking full-sleeve gloves with an oversized wide-brim hat and folding chair backpack. Only time will tell. Although, if I'm being honest, I'd rock that ill army green leather trench coat jawn right now.
