I don’t know what was cool when you were a kid, but BMX was the fucking shit. No one could do one single trick other than a bunny hop but we all insisted on begging our parents for legit BMX gear. I remember this kid Derek had a sweet Mongoose bike before everyone else. And he showed that shit off all the time. Then my buddy Matt got a Haro with pegs and pretty much no one heard of Derek ever again. So next time you show off your fancy fixed gear to me, remember, unless your bike has pegs, you might as well fade into obscurity like Derek. This Vans collection reminded me of when I really wanted a Haro bike but all I got was a Huffy.
