Yo, sorry Nike, but New Balances are kinda the wave right now. After the schmeness of the Free Flyknits and Hyperfeels (at least from an aesthetic perspective), the door was left wide open for New Balance to become the de rigueur sneaker choice of the season. I mean, look at these 999's. Hella heel support and tonal colors and a general fuckless attitude make these sneakers the perfect option when you want people to stare at your new winter coat. It'd be a major bummer if you showed up to a party wearing that new $850 Acne joint only for everyone to point out the red Strugtobers you've been wearing since July.
