Adidas Officially Announces Partnership With Kanye West

None

While the Yeezus x Adidas collaboration was all but certain last week (and yeah, we know a bunch of you stole our photo and posted in to your Tumblrs without linking back to us like a bunch of ill D-bags), the brand has now officially announced that this is 100% going down. Today, a statement from the brand reads:

"For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West. Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport, we look forward to creating a new chapter. Details to follow."

For a company that probably made a collective cream jeans when Kanye signed on the dotted line, that shit sounded remarkably poised. And while specific details regarding Kanye's contract are still unknown, including how much the deal is worth and what exactly the collection will be, we do know that royalties played a large role in the artist's decision to depart from Nike and join Adidas because Ye won't shut up about them.
