Can Someone With Actual Taste Please Wear Y-3 Spring/Summer 2014?

None

After returning to the label last year and serving up one of the best sneakers of 2013, the Qasa High, the bar returned to unreasonably high heights for Yohji Yamamoto and his Y-3 collection. Unfortunately, it seems like homie threw up a multitude of bricks for the S/S 14 drop. Actually, I don't know. I've been staring at the black leather hi-tops for roughly 4 and half minutes and I think maybe someone cooler than me could pull them off and influence me into actually liking them. For the time being though, I just kind of think all of these sneakers are overcomplicated where the Qasa was a unique mix of simplicity, innovative form and rare ninja assassin steez. The harsh reality of all this is that a ton of European dudes are going to cop these and pair them with bootcut jeans and club shirts with paisley cuffs that would make even Common Projects look like doo-doo. Here's to hoping someone with some actual taste finds a way to make these work because, Yohji, you deserve it.
