When things took a sudden turn for the worse for Band of Outsiders, the brand was forced to close its New York store and not ship its most recent collection. It seemed that the brand had run out of money. Founder Scott Sternberg bid farewell to BoO on his Instagram and that was effectively the nail in the coffin for one of the preeminent high-end prep staples of the last decade. However, the brand's assets—it's copyrights, trademarks and remaining inventory—were auctioned off yesterday and it seems that we're not going to have to say goodbye just yet.

According to WWD, the Belgian fashion fund CLCC SA won the auction and gained possession of the brand yesterday. It stated that it believes in the brand and will continue to market it in the U.S. and overseas. Who will take over the reins from Sternberg and just how concerted this effort will be remains to be seen. But it looks like Band just got a second life.
