When we met with John after his S/S '16 show back in July, he mentioned a small nugget of news—he would soon officially drop the "+ Co." from the brand's name. I don't know anyone that has ever truly said out loud "John Elliott and Co.," so dropping it makes sense. Come Monday, December 14th, that change will be official. To celebrate, JE is dropping a little capsule collection along with it. The three-piece collection comes with a new hoodie, a long-sleeve tee and some new denim.

The tees come in "oak" and "dove" and feature an oversized fit, curved hem and crew neck and are 100% cotton. The tones and drape look quite nice. But the denim and hoodie are worth really paying attention to. The denim is hand-washed and hand-distressed 3x1 Japanese indigo selvedge with a tapered fit from the knee to the ankle. The details look flat-out incredible. The repaired patches, small paint splatters and torn, but not too-torn, knees work perfectly. Then there is the hoodie. Oh boy did he kill this thing. The Kake Mock Pullover has a huge yoke at the neck, elongated hood drawstrings, a shorter, boxier fit, a kangaroo pocket and an extended gusset at the sides. While the John Elliott name has become synonymous with side-zips, this is a clear departure from the style. If you need to be reminded, John has destroyed the idea that he's a one-trick pony. The collection launches on Monday, December 14th. Make sure you're ready.
