The Best Looks From Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014: Part I

See our previous coverage of Paris Fashion Week here.

With both London and Milan Fashion Week now in our Swarovski-bedazzled rear view mirror, we turn our rapturous attention to the runways of Pair-ee aka Paris, France aka Yeezus World HQ. PFW tends to be the most directional and fashion forward of the international Fashion Weeks, absent of the sophisticated, if sometimes limiting, constraints of Italian and British tailoring. Which is why it's surprising, if not entirely un-welcomed, that the first S/S 14 looks unveiled in the city of lights featured a host of unique and diverse suiting and formal wear. That isn't to say heavy doses of creativity and innovation were not on display, especially those from Raf Simons. Granted, we're weren't exactly stoked about the amount of man leg forced up us by Raf, but there's no denying Paris is where you show when you're looking to push the industry, and envelope, further.

Thank you for ignoring the floppy hats and perplexing sandals at Carven, as should everyone.

The shoes in 4. What is going on there? Are those heels?

To beg the question does not mean “to raise the question.”
(e.g. “It begs the question, what’s the difference between denim suit pants and jeans?”) This is a common
error of usage made by those who mistake the word “question” in the
phrase to refer to a literal question. Sadly, the error has grown more
and more common with time, such that even journalists, advertisers, and
major mass media entities have fallen prey to “BTQ Abuse.”
