GQ’s popular video series GQ Rules returns this summer with claims of bestowing guys with “summer style survival” and judging by this newest edition, we’re firm believers. Deputy Editor Michael Hainey and Creative Director Jim Moore show how to kick start your summer style by rocking the khaki suit. Khaki is a neutral summer color and GQ shows how effortlessly it can be dressed up for the office and down for an after-hours pour at your local watering hole. The secret to putting these looks together lies in a simple sartorial equation: "scale + pattern + consistent color family = style." Simply, you shouldn’t wear a polka dot pocket square with a polka dot tie, or if two items in your fit are patterned, one should be smaller than the other. Simple enough, right? We all know it’s notoriously difficult to showcase your style chops during the warmer months, but rest assured GQ knows this and is on your side.
