For some reason, Macy's wanted to take a look at what brands were the most popular on Instagram. We're not sure exactly why, but they were probably just trying to feel good about themselves for a change. Hey Macy's, you smart, you're loyal, you're grateful. I appreciate that. Anyhow, now we have a nice interactive chart and graph that shows us the upper echelon of fashion brands murdering it on the 'Gram. While the data is a bit dated—up-to-date as of July 21st, 2015—we still get a nice picture of the ABSOLUTE FUCKING DOMINANCE that Nike is laying down on the beleaguered competition. What kinda stats is the Swoosh putting up? Oh, just 18.7 million followers and 47 million+ hashtag mentions. Considering those figures are about a month old, Nike has already shot up another 4 million or so followers to 22 mil. Their lead is so commanding in fact, that the chart showing the ratio of followers to hashtags has to be zoomed out to see how just far and away Nike is crushing every other brand's dreams. And the competition isn't a bunch of slouches either. Nope, we're talking Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Adidas. Whether it's because sneakers are eminently more grammable than other pieces or because people just love to show off how they're working on their fitness, Nike is there to cover both bases in spades and it doesn't look like anyone else is going to get close any time soon. Sorry, Macy's. If you're feeling down, just watch that DJ Khaled video again. Shit works for me every morning when I'd rather kill myself than get out of bed and start my day.
